In the use of plastic bottles, we are more concerned about the hygiene of plastic bottles, especially the caps. Because the cap is often in direct contact with our mouths when drinking, if there is something unclean on the cap, it could be carried into the body during the drinking process. Sterilisation of plastic bottle caps is therefore an essential step in the production process.
There are several methods of sterilising bottle caps as follows:
Spraying: using multiple sets of nozzles to spray sterilised water in multiple directions to sterilise the surface of the beverage bottle cap. There are certain requirements for the timing of the spraying to ensure that the microorganisms are completely killed. Specifically, capped beverage bottle caps enter the cap track in the same direction, with multiple sets of nozzles set above and below the track. Each set of nozzles can spray germicidal water at different angles to the bottle cap, the sprayed germicidal water not only sterilises the cap, but also pushes the cap forward along the track.
Soaking: This involves immersing the cap of a plastic bottle in sterilised water so that the entire cap can be cleaned by the sterilised water. The soaking time also depends on the strength of the sterilising water. Generally strong oxidising sterilising water can be soaked for 10-20 seconds to meet the time required to fully sterilise the bottle cap.
One method is to fix beverage bottle caps in the same direction on a cap holder with a chain attached to it. The movement of the chain drives the cap holder into a sterilisation pool filled with sterilised water, allowing the cap to be fully immersed in the sterilised water. The cap soaking time is within 10-20 seconds, which meets the time requirement for complete cap sterilisation.
As with spray sterilisation, caps immersed in sterilised water require spray washing of sterile water and spray washing of sterile air to make the liquid caps dry and sterile.
